Admission Policy

Dutch International Schools are as such acknowledged and funded by the Ministry of Education, Culture, and Science. As a consequence, eligibility requirements for admission to the schools are based (according to national regulations) on the following:

  • Foreign students who will reside in The Netherlands for a defined term while their parents are employed in the country.
  • Dutch nationals who have had at least two years international education while their parents have had employment overseas.
  • Dutch nationals who are planning to be educated, for at least two years, overseas, due to their parent’s employment outside The Netherlands.

Admission Procedure

If you are interested in sending one or more of your children to the International School Groningen please telephone the school or e-mail the school secretary, . An appointment will be made for you to meet with the appropriate Deputy Headteacher and receive a full tour of the school.

Fees

Up to date information about the annual school fee can be obtained from the .

Fees for the International School include tuition for one year, as well as textbooks. Examination fees, costs for school trips and outings and a registration fee are charged in addition to the annual school fee. Where a student is required to take a self taught language or receive extra teaching or support outside of the normal school curriculum an extra fee may also be applicable.

Examination fees are charged for the final year of Middle Years programme and the Diploma programme. These fees are set by the International Baccalaureate Organisation and are subject to yearly change. Invoices for these fees are sent out in January. It is essential that payment for these examination fees is met before May 1st.

Flexible payment plans can be arranged by the school to assist in payment of school fees. However should the fee pose a problem, please contact , the Head of the International School.

On signing the application form for admission to the International School, parents are obliged to comply with their agreement to pay all school and examination fees. If parents fail to comply with these regulations, all external certificates and school records will be withheld from students.
