Student Council
The student council is the backbone of the students’ voice within in the International School Groningen. Two representatives are taken from each class (MYP 1 – DP 2). The students’ opinion about the school and ideas that can improve the school are taken within each tutorial class by the two representatives and are then brought forth in the student council meetings which are held once a month. The president (Maarten Schoonbeeg) and the vice president (Conor Thompson) then sort all the given ideas onto a priority list which are then discussed in meetings with the head of the school (Mike Weston). The issues given by the representatives shall be brought up and resolved.
The student council does not only try and resolve all the students’ issues but also tries to set up things like discos for the students along with the PSG (Parent Support Group).
